Oh, so you thought John Simm’s the Master was gone now that we have Missy? Well, hold on tight because the Master is back! According to the BBC John Simm will return in Doctor Who Series 10 as the Master himself.
This means we will not only see the Master vs. the Peter Capaldi’s Doctor, but we will see the Master and Missy vs. the Doctor! Missy, of course, being Michelle Gomez’s wonderful female version of the Master.
It only makes sense for the Master to return to Doctor Who. We know that Time Lords can interact with themselves because the Doctor has done it quite a few times. It’s only logical that the evil Master would try the same trick. It’s going to be a delight to watch Missy and the Master working side by side, a terribly evil delight.
The BBC quoted Steven Moffat as saying this about Missy and the Master:
"“It’s been a huge pleasure to have fan favourites John Simm and Michelle Gomez face to face in the same role! It’s not often you get to see a solo personality clash.”"
If this doesn’t make you excited for series 10 of Doctor Who you’re either dead inside or a Dalek.
The Master’s return might also be yet another hint that other characters from the Doctor’s past are due to appear… perhaps even other Doctors?
