Not only do the rumors suggest that he’s set to be the next Doctor, but they claim he already is. It’s being suggested that Kris Marshall will be taking over as the Doctor not at the end of the Christmas special, but in the last episode of series 10 of Doctor Who.
This of course lines up with the fact that the Doctor’s regeneration was teased in the series 10 trailer. It also of course lines up with Capaldi saying that he has already filmed the death of his Doctor.
As for Kris Mashall himself if you’re from the United States you probably best know him from the movie Love Actually. Marshall is a bit older than Matt Smith or David Tennant were when they took up the role of Doctor Who, but he’s certianly a younger Doctor than Capaldi.
Marshall also kind of looks like Matt Smith, so could this be a step back to younger Doctors? Capaldi’s run as the Doctor was controversial with fans. Capaldi is wonderful, but may only just now hitting his stride as the Doctor.
We of course will have a more detailed breakdown of our new Doctor this week.
