Rumor has it that David Bradley, best known as Harry Potter’s Argus Filch, will be portraying the first Doctor in this year’s Doctor Who Christmas special.

WARNING: THIS POST MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS FOR SERIES 10 OF DOCTOR WHO. TIME IS A TIMEY-WIMEY BALL, BUT THERE WILL BE NO GOING BACK IF YOU READ THIS. THIS POST IS A FIXED POINT IN TIME. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

The Mirror is reporting that we may see the first doctor in the Christmas special for series 10 of Doctor Who. Of course,  William Hartnell, the original actor who played the first Doctor, has passed away. In the recent Doctor Who BBC special An Adventure in Space and Time, however, the first Doctor Was played by David Bradley. So it would be David Bradley as the first Doctor you would see in the Christmas special.

David Bradley would be best known to American audiences as Argus Filch in the Harry Potter movies. Bradley did a great job as the first doctor in An Adventure in Space and Time.

Another great piece to this is that the sets from the first Doctor’s TARDIS lovingly recreated for An Adventure in Space and Time can also be used.

The rumor right now is that the first Doctor and Peter Capaldi’s Doctor must work together to move Gallifrey to another dimension in order to protect it. Now we don’t know if this is true yet or not, and seeing David Bradley as the first Doctor again will be lovely, but that sounds an awful lot like Matt Smith’s final Christmas special and The Day of the Doctor.

We just saw the Doctor save Gallifrey before his last regeneration, it would be nice to see something new for Capaldi’s final. There’s also the issue of Capaldi apparently dying in series 10, but still being around for the Christmas special. Could our new Doctor who also be involved in the Christmas special?
