The story lasted for 60 issues and told the tale of a man named Yorick and his pet monkey Ampersand – the only two males in the world who survives when every other creature with a Y chromosome dies at the same time.
Yorick’s only goal is to find his way back to his girlfriend but he finds many roadblocks because there are many groups who want to capture him for their own purposes. There are people who want to use him to gain power, there are those who want to capture him to experiment on him, and there are those who just want him dead.
What would make a Y: The Last Man television series so interesting is that it would feature only one male human character and every other single character in the show is female.
In a world where there are so few important female parts, to make an entire television world full of important female characters with only one male would be a huge undertaking and a great step in the right direction.
