Jessica Jones Season Two Teaser Trailer And Premiere Date
It’s been a long wait for season two of Jessica Jones but thankfully fans finally get their first glimpse of the private eye’s return.
Krysten Ritter is back and just as fierce as the apprehensive hero of New York City. The trailer promises a slightly lighter tone than last season but luckily Jessica doesn’t seem to have any plans to shed some of her snark.
There are a few key takeaways from the trailer even though the short clip doesn’t offer up much about the storyline. Newcomer J.R. Ramirez, who is playing a new neighbor to Jessica named Oscar, gets a lot of focus despite not much information on the character.

While he was teased as someone who would be wary of super-powered people, it looks like he’ll take a romantic interest in Jessica as well. This is a pretty drastic turn from the comics considering she has a very long history with Luke Cage. In fact, the two are actually married with a daughter who grows up to become the next Captain America.
However, in The Defenders universe, it makes more sense for the two characters to take some time apart since he’s currently dating Claire Temple and Jessica has a lot of emotional baggage to sort through.
Shockingly, Rachael Taylor is only seen once despite being one of the major surprises from the first season of Jessica Jones. Trish seems to have dug up more information on the shady company IGH, and why they funded all of her foster sister’s hospital bills. Some behind-the-scenes photos show the radio show host in her signature yellow, fighting off a mugger to save Malcolm, which hints at a larger arc for her character.
Trish Walker is one of Marvel’s longest running characters and she becomes a superhero in her right as the yellow catsuit-clad Hellcat. Since Krysten Ritter had to pull double duty filming both Jessica Jones and The Defenders, it’s definitely possible that Hellcat will make her debut to pick up some of the slack this season.
However, there is one glaring omission from this Jessica Jones trailer: no villain! While it’s been confirmed that David Tennant will be reprising Kilgrave for a few scenes, it’s unlikely that he’ll be the key antagonist this time around. There’s a scene in the trailer with Jessica getting arrested in front of a heartbroken Malcolm where she admits to killing someone. Has she been set up for murder or has she really crossed a line this time?

The teaser is full of fun little tidbits for fans to work through while they wait for the season premiere. Unfortunately, viewers will have to wait a little longer to finally start binging episodes. Fans can check out Season One on Netflix over this winter hiatus until the sophomore run starts on March 8.
