Surprise! Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead were the most pirated shows of 2017.

In a bit of news, that should surprise absolutely no one, HBO’s Game of Thrones and AMC’s The Walking Dead were the two most pirated shows of 2017, according to TorrentFreak. 2017 also marks the sixth year in a row that Thrones has landed in the top spot. Man, pirates really do love medieval fantasy drama.

The high point for Game of Thrones came after the season 7 finale, “The Dragon and the Wolf,” when more than 400k folks were sharing the episode through popular torrent site, BitTorrent. Considering the fact that the data is just from one torrent site, probably means that number is much larger across all torrenting platforms.
