Get ready to explore Superman’s homeworld when Syfy’s Krypton premieres in March of 2018.

Syfy has finally announced the premiere date for its much-anticipated Superman/Supergirl prequel series, Krypton. Taking to Twitter on Thursday, the official Syfy Krypton account tweeted the reveal.

The events in Krypton take place two generations before the planet’s demise and will follow the Man of Steel’s grandfather.

"Set two generations before the destruction of the legendary Man of Steel’s home planet, Krypton follows Superman’s grandfather (Cameron Cuffe, The Halcyon) — whose House of El was ostracized and shamed — as he fights to redeem his family’s honor and save his beloved world from chaos."

While the show is based on DC characters, don’t expect there to be any crossover from the CW’s Arrowverse or FOX’s Gotham, as the writer for the show is the same man who penned Man of Steel, The Dark Knight trilogy, and Batman v Superman — David S. Goyer. So, expect the show to be dark…really dark.

There should also be plenty of DC Easter Eggs and famous characters making an appearance on the show, as Entertainment Weekly notes the creature who killed Superman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice — Doomsday — will be worked in at some point.

Adam Strange, Brainiac, and Hawkgirl are also going to be part of the show, so there’s that to look forward to. The cast of Krypton includes:

  • Cameron Cuffe as Seg-El: Superman’s grandfather
  • Georgina Campbell as Lyta Zod
  • Ian McElhinney as Val-El: Seg’s grandfather
  • Elliot Cowan as Daron-Vex
  • Ann Ogbomo as Alura Zod: Lyta’s mother
  • Shaun Sipos as Adam Strange
  • Blake Ritson as Brainiac
