Stranger Things — 2×09: “The Gate”
The second season of Netflix’s hit series was one of the last highlights of 2017. Released last October, it left the fans begging for more. The show also received two Golden Globe nominations for Best Actor and Best Drama series.
You can’t have missed the Stranger Things phenomenon. Set in the 1980s, the series is a science-fiction/horror series that follows a group of children facing supernatural events and other spooky creatures from the Upside Down World.

Part of the success relies on the character of Eleven, a young girl with telekinetic powers that the gang of nerd boys come across in the woods.
The highly-anticipated new season is set a year after the events of the first and it is soon revealed that Eleven is alive and Will is still being influenced by the demoniacal entities.
Without much debate, the final episode stands out as the epic conclusion in the climactic battle of Eleven vs the Upside Down whilst Joyce delivers her son from The Mind Flayer’s possession.
Eleven displays the full range of her powers in an epic scene where she floats in the air and channels all of her energy to seal the Gate, and save Hawkins — yet again. Incidentally, it is also the episode where Steve Harrington proves to be a wonderful mother.
The episode concludes with the Snow Ball where Eleven and Mike share their second kiss but lets us viewers know that the Upside Down is still lurking as an appetizer for season 3.
