Ash vs. Evil Dead Season 3 is coming back to Starz on Feb. 25 and star Bruce Campbell has made it sound like his character of Ash is about to face the biggest battle of his life.

The interview was with Bloody Disgusting, and Campbell spoke about one of the monsters that he would face in the third season of his series. Of course, longtime fans know that Ash fights Deadites – all starting with the first Evil Dead movie and concluding with Army of Darkness.

Ash vs. Evil Dead began 23 years after the end of Army of Darkness (the version where he ends up back in his own time, not the version where he ends up in a post-apocalyptic future). After a night of partying, he gets drunk and reads incantations from the Necronomicon and brings the Deadites back.

The first two seasons saw Ash gain some friends in Kelly and Pablo and face off against a mysterious woman named Ruby (Lucy Lawless), while also battling Deadites with his shotgun and chainsaw, all with a snide remark every step of the way.

Well, it looks like the Deadites he fought in three movies and two seasons of a TV show are nothing compared to what is coming in Ash vs. Evil Dead Season 3. According to Cambell, Ash will face the biggest demon of his life – a 60-foot tall Deadite.

"“It’s the big one, the mother of all demons. That’s what Ash is fighting with the tank, so it ends up that Ash is finally going to fulfill his destiny. He has to own up to who he is – if he’s the chosen one.”"

When asked about the Chosen One concept, Cambell got Biblical. He said that in the Bible there is a story about good vs. evil and Hell sent its greatest warrior, but Heaven chose to send an average guy to fight for them because they had faith that good would always triumph over evil.

"We’re so confident in Good that even a schmoe can take you guys out.’ So that’s why Ash is essentially the Chosen One, he has no skills, zero skills."

However, if this is the moment that the schmoe has to fight the “mother of all demons” and learn if he is the “chosen one,” what is left for Ash vs. Evil Dead? The series has struggled to get ratings, although its placement on Starz makes those hard to come by. Could Ash vs. Evil Dead Season 3 be the final season for the Deadite fighting everyman?

Ash also has some personal demons to fight during Ash vs. Evil Dead Season 3, as he has a daughter he never knew existed that he has to save the life of as well. Check out the trailer below:
