Walking Dead actor promises a lot of deaths in season 8

The Walking Dead has killed off Carl Grimes and almost every member of the Scavengers, and producers say they aren’t finished yet.

This week, there is yet another death promised on The Walking Dead and one actor says more deaths are coming before season 8 comes to an end. Seth Gilliam portrays Father Gabriel on the popular AMC zombies show and from the looks of recent photos, it looks like he is one step away from death himself.

However, while Gabriel’s fate is still uncertain, Gilliam said that there are more deaths to come in season 8. Many fans have claimed that they will stop watching the show after the death of Carl, and the dropping of the ratings makes it look like some are keeping their promise.

More from The Walking Dead

Season 8 alone has seen the deaths of everyone from Carl and the Scavengers (minus Jadis) to Aaron’s lover Eric, Gavin, and even Shiva, the beloved tiger of King Ezekiel. As Gillian said, there are more deaths coming — and the next will happen on tonight’s episode.

The comments came when Comicbook.com asked what fans can expect from the rest of season 8. Gilliam said just two words: “more death.” Gilliam also said that the deaths of favorites affect the fans of the show, but the actors are also affected when someone new dies.

"“It does take its toll.”"

Recent Walking Dead spoilers indicate that Father Gabriel’s illness has nothing to do with the radiation that The Walking Dead hinted at. Instead, it appears that Gilliam just has the flu — something that is almost impossible to fight when it comes to a new world with antibiotics few and far between.

Next: Walking Dead actor supports Lauren Cohan

So, who will be the next major character to die on The Walking Dead? Lauren Cohan has no contract for season 9 and has signed on to appear in a new pilot episode of another TV show, so could Maggie end up dying by the end of this season? There is also a question about the future of Negan — especially considering Carl’s death already rocketed the show away from the comics.

The Walking Dead airs on AMC on Sunday nights at 9 p.m. EST.
