The first season of Westworld ended with a huge surprise and after a long wait, HBO is teasing the Season 2 premiere.

More from Westworld

HBO has revealed a sneak peek to show what fans can expect from Season 2 of Westworld and now we can’t wait for the sci-fi western to return next month! Afer the first season ended with a huge twist, no one knew what to expect with the sophomore season. Considering the premise of the show, creators could have gone in many directions but it looks like, at least in part, Westworld will be switching gears based on a few key clues.

The HBO hit had a major presence at SXSW this year according to DeadlineIt was there that a new Samurai World was teased. There was even a samurai warrior that wandered throughout the SXSW festival to promote Season 2.

A Westworld pop-up was erected at the Austin festival and many stars of the series were on hand. Evan Rachel Wood, Thandie Newton, James Marsden and Jeffrey Wright were all at SXSW and even talked about the upcoming season during a panel. Unfortunately, they didn’t reveal much about the upcoming season, claiming to have had their memories erased before the event.

In addition to the SXSW spoiler, a series of Westworld  Season 2 photos were also released and have fans investigating for clues about the upcoming 10 episodes that comprise the next season. Check out the brand new photos below and see what hints HBO has given us for the upcoming season.

Even though we already know that Westworld is going to introduce the world of the Samurais, it looks like there will still be plenty of wild, wild west as well. There are a few hints of the world we already know from last season, including the photo of Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood) and Teddy (James Marsden) on horseback.

There are also photos that look more modern, including the one of Maeve (Thandie Newton) standing beside the head of the Narrative Department Lee Sizemore (Simon Quarterman.) In the photo, Maeve is looking more robotic than normal. She’s also dressed in a modern black shift dress and carrying an automatic weapon. That’s a huge change from the previous season and there has been speculation on what it means. Is this where Maeve finally takes control? Or is she part of a new world that Sizemore is showcasing to prospective park visitors? Time will tell!
