Could Walking Dead leave North America for future stories?
By Shawn Lealos
Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman has some ideas for the future of the franchise and it might move outside of North America.
As previously reported, The Walking Dead could end up with more television spin-offs in the future. While the first spin-off, Fear the Walking Dead gets only a fraction of the viewers as the main series, it has surpassed the original in quality storytelling over the last year.
While Fear the Walking Dead started off in California at the start of the zombie apocalypse, it moved to Central America and will return to the United States and Texas when it comes back for its fourth season.
However, Central America might just be the start.

Robert Kirkman was answering fans questions on Tumblr and was asked about moving the story to see what happened in other parts of the world, other than the core crew we have seen in The Walking Dead comics. While Fear the Walking Dead took us to the West Coast, Kirkman said that there is a chance we go around the world.
It won’t happen in the comic books though. Much like he has refused to leave his original core characters (or at least Rick and Carl, since all the rest are dead or gone now), he won’t ever leave them in the future either, according to his answer to the question.
However, as fans have learned, The Walking Dead television show is a completely different beast.
"“It’s something we’ve discussed from time to time, and we have seen a bit of Mexico in Fear The Walking Dead… I wouldn’t be surprised if we eventually do something internationally in the TV space.”"
Of course, Robert Kirkman did not say “yes” but he did say they have discussed it. Since he was willing to give them the spin-off on the West Coast and in Mexico, maybe putting a new series in London could work, although it might be a little late with 28 Days Later depicting a great zombie apocalypse in London.

How about China or Japan. Maybe Austrailia if the TV show wants to keep things in the woods. How would Canadians deal with a zombie apocalypse? What about Africa? The ideas are limitless.
