Fear the Walking Dead showrunner on how show will be different this year
By Ariba Bhuvad
Fear The Walking Dead promises to be different from the seasons that preceded it.
As The Walking Dead wraps up its eighth season, all eyes are on the next installment of Fear The Walking Dead.
Not only will we finally see Morgan (Lennie James) cross over into the FTWD world along with a new crew of characters, but there will also be some differences with the new villains and the walkers.

While season three’s villains were the Ranchers and the Otto family (well, some of them), this season will take a more direct, blunt approach to who the bad guys are. Showrunner Andrew Chambliss shared some knowledge about what to expect from this season’s villains.
"“And one of our goals was to create an adversary where going up against them isn’t as easy as just arming up with weapons and having a fight, but really trying to make a challenge that would force the characters to dig a little deeper and to really test themselves, and test what they believe in and what they’re fighting for.”"
This piece of information is quite exciting if we think about it, right? In a world where there is a mix of the undead and living, there is so much danger lurking around every corner–physically, mentally, and emotionally. Season four promises to appeal to those fears and take us on a brand-new ride.
The fourth season will also bring some differences amongst the walkers. There will be a time jump which means more zombies — yes, you heard that right! Greg Nicotero shared just how many during Wondercon last weekend:
"“The walkers are gonna be a lot more prevalent in the show. In past seasons of Fear we’ve had so much going on that the walkers always felt sometimes like a little bit like a secondary character, and now they’re a bit more front and center.”"
So, basically, they’re saying we can expect MORE zombies, MORE badass characters, and MORE villains? Looks like this season of Fear The Walking Dead is going to be one for the books.
