HBO’s Westworld to have a few longer episodes
By Ariba Bhuvad
Longer Westworld episodes? Yes, please!
After a year and a half hiatus, HBO’s Westworld will return for its second season on Sunday, April 22! It has been an excruciatingly long wait and we have to say we cannot be more excited for the show to make its glorious return.
Lucky for us, HBO announced that some of the season two episodes will run longer than an hour. Thank goodness, right?

From time to time during the second season, episodes will run longer than an hour to cover as much story as possible. We are so okay with that because after making us wait for this long, it’s only fair that we get as much Westworld action as possible.
And the most exciting thing about this news is that the hour-plus runtime will apply to the season two premiere!
Showrunners Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy recently spoke to Entertainment Weekly about the longer episode times:
"“The premiere is a little over 70 minutes. The fourth episode — which is one of my favorites — is a little longer than an hour. And the finale is just going to keep going and going — it’s a bit of an epic.”"
So it appears at least three episodes will run longer than an hour! And we can expect that the finale will be the longest episode amongst them as it wraps up the madness we are sure to experience throughout the second season.

Critics who have seen the first five episodes have pointed out that the fourth episode is the one that stands out, so it makes sense that it is also one of the longer episodes this season.
Westworld returns for season two on HBO on Sunday, April 22 at 9 PM EST!
