The Babysitters Club may return as a television series? Yes, please.

For anyone that was a 90’s kid, ‘The Babysitters Club’ was an integral part of your reading list for most of your childhood. The legendary series is written by Ann M. Martin and focused on a group of young teenage girls who had a babysitting club and lived in Stoneybrook, Connecticut.

Ah, the walk down memory lane is really reeling you in right about now, isn’t it?  Well, it gets better because Walden Media and Michael D. Luca Productions is looking to bring the classic book series to life (once again!) in a television series. Yes, that’s right, The Babysitters Club is making a comeback!

The series would include all of the original characters from the books and be split into half-hour episodes following the girls’ lives. The storylines would discuss their friendship, business ventures, and the usual teen angsty drama that everyone faces.

The episodes will go above and beyond into serious topics including racism, divorce, and rope in issues that teens face in the modern-day and age. Pretty cool, right?

De Luca will be an executive producer on the series and Lucia Aniello of Broad City may join as a director/executive producer, along with GLOW’s Rachel Shukert as a showrunner.

Originally, The Babysitters Club was a television series on HBO in the early 90’s and also adapted into a movie in 1995 and starred the fabulous Rachael Leigh Cook.
