Hear ye, hear ye, the role of (older) Princess Anne has been cast for the third season of Netflix’s The Crown!

As we inch closer and closer to the eventual season three premiere date of The Crown, the roles for all the major characters are starting to fill up.

The latest addition to the cast is the role of Princess Anne, who will be played by Call the Midwife’s Erin Doherty, according to THR.

Doherty will play the daughter of Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth in the next season of The Crown, and we couldn’t be more excited! The production on season three is in full swing with its debut anticipated to be in 2019.

Season three will bring in older versions of each character, and a new cast to replace them. Along with Doherty, Broadchurch’s Olivia Colman and Outlander’s Tobias Menzies have been cast to play Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip.

Furthermore, Helena Bonham Carter will be taking on the role of Princess Margaret. Suffice to say, the cast is stacked and it is gearing up to be an epic third and fourth season.

Netflix plans to do at least six seasons of the series to cover Queen Elizabeth’s life up to current day over the course of eight to ten years. This means at some point we will someone take on the role of Princess Diana (can’t wait for this!) and Camilla Parker Bowles.
