Apple’s latest original series See, a futuristic sci-fi drama, has found its leading man. Jason Momoa was last seen on television as the star of Netflix’s Frontier.

Best known as Khal Drogo on Game of Thrones and Aquaman in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU), Jason Momoa is set to star in Apple’s upcoming original series widely described as an epic, world-building drama set in the future. Momoa will play Baba Voss who, given the casting decision, is unsurprisingly characterized as a fearless warrior, leader, and guardian.

Steven Knight, the creator of British crime drama Peaky Blinders, is slated to write See while Francis Lawrence, best known for his work on The Hunger Games films, will direct. Knight and Lawrence will also executive produce along with Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping and Kristen Campo of Chernin Entertainment.

According to Deadline, the 10-episode series is premised on the idea of that humanity has collectively gone blind and learned to adapt.

"See is set in a future when the human race has lost the sense of sight, and society has had to find new ways to interact, to build, to hunt, to survive. All of that is challenged when a set of twins with sight is born."

A premiere date for the series has yet to be announced, but Momoa will likely first return to the small screen as Declan Harp in the six-episode third season of Netflix’s Frontier. Upon its renewal last fall, the series was slated to return in 2018.

Momoa will next appear in theaters as the titular Atlantean superhero in the DCEU’s latest installment Aquaman, which premieres in December. Aquaman will mark the DCEU’s third solo hero film, following 2013’s Man of Steel and 2017’s Wonder Woman.
