Game of Thrones leads this year’s Emmy nominations with 22, while Atlanta, The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story, Saturday Night Live, and The Handmaid’s Tale rake in a ton of nominations, too.

The 2018 Primetime Emmy nominations were announced this morning in Los Angeles. Emmy-nominated actress Samira Wiley of The Handmaid’s Tale and Orange is the New Black, and The Blacklist star Ryan Eggold had the honor of reading of this year’s nominees.

For months, shows like The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and even Jersey Shore: Family Reunion have started “For Your Consideration” campaigns to generate buzz and, hopefully, get recognized.

More from Show Snob

It looks like it worked for The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, who received five nominations, including Outstanding Comedy series and a Lead Actress nod for Rachel Brosnahan.

Game of Thrones received the most nominations with 22, including Outstanding Drama Series and Supporting actor nods for Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Peter Dinklage, and Lena Headey. Saturday Night Live and Westworld each had 21 nominations.

And since six-time Emmy winner Julia Louis-Dreyfus and her show, Veep, are ineligible this year, the Best Actress in a Comedy and Best Comedy categories are wide open for a new comedic queen.
