Fear The Walking Dead: Things are looking grim for Alicia
By Ariba Bhuvad
Fear The Walking Dead is all set to return for the back half of season four–and things are about to get worse.
Fear The Walking Dead has been so emotional this season with two major deaths that we are still trying to recover from–seriously, it’s not even fair. Alicia has a lot to process as the only Clark family member left, and according to Alycia Debnam-Carey, things are “only going to get worse”.
She has been in a pretty dark place through the first half of season four and going into season 4B, and without giving too much away, we just have to take her word for it that it’s all about to go to hell for Alicia.

Debnam-Carey pointed out during San Diego Comic-Con that Alicia is now the only person left from the pilot (crazy, right?). She went on to say that she believes Alicia has changed the most since we first saw her–a teenage girl to a badass fighting to survive in a post-apocalyptic world.
It seems like moving forward we will see Alicia trying to navigate through things on her own, and it will be a big part of her arc as things continue to fall apart. Lennie James, who plays Morgan, commented on the fact that Fear The Walking Dead is a big advocate for pushing the characters to evolve, something a lot of shows don’t do.
"“For the characters to genuinely move from being one thing to being something other, and it’s something I think is one of the reasons why our fans are kind of compelled by what we do and are attracted to us, is because they have ownership of the journey of our characters.”"
We would definitely have to agree with you, Lennie! Jenna Elfman, who plays June, spoke about how the show allows viewers to get a glimpse into characters dealing with life or death situations and how these situations cause them to change drastically.
It seems like Alicia’s journey will involve whether or not she can carry on Madison’s legacy and keep the memory of her mother and brother alive. Sigh, this is going to be a tough one.
Fear The Walking Dead returns August 12th on AMC at 9 PM EST!
