Netflix finally releases a full-length trailer for The Punisher season two.

While we don’t know the fate of The Punisher yet, it’s clear this second season isn’t going to be an easy ride for Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal). The final trailer for season two teases a bloody new war coming, with Frank facing off against a myriad of enemies. Through it all, he’s tasked with protecting newcomer Amy Bendix (played by Giorgia Whigham) from danger.

The trailer gives us our first full look at Josh Stewart’s new villain, John Pilgrim. Earlier, Stewart confirmed his character would be a member of the Alt-Right movement. Based on this footage, he’s set his sites on teenager Amy Bendix. Like the hero he is, Frank steps in to save the young girl which ends in a massive and bloody bar fight.

It’s not exactly the best move for someone who seems to be laying low. Amy points out the trailer that it’s almost like he wanted an excuse to fight. Maybe he’s spent so long taking down bad guys, that he’s not ready to retire now. Nevertheless, Billy Russo (Ben Barnes) is going to take any sighting of the Punisher seriously.

We’re able to get a clearer look at the show’s version of Jigsaw here as well as see him in action. He’s desperate to get revenge on Frank and it looks like he’s going to get that chance this season. As previously noted, Jigsaw’s face isn’t nearly as carved up as it is in the comics however he does don a pretty terrifying mask.

Billy is quick to team up with Pilgrim, supplying the latter’s men with masks and ammunition. Why Would Frank risk it all just to protect Amy? It’s because the young grifter is on the run after (presumably) Pilgrim’s men kill all of the people she cares about. He can relate, as the trailer features a brief flashback of Frank’s family. Based on their scenes throughout the trailer, Frank is going to take Amy on the run while they try to evade the bad guys.

The trailer gives us a glimpse of Amber Rose Revah as Dinah Midani and Jason R. Moore as Curtis Hoyle, both returning from The Punisher season one. However, we don’t get to see new cast members Annette O’Toole, Corbin Bernsen, and Floriana Lima in the footage. Also missing is Deborah Ann Woll, who was confirmed to be returning in this season.

While it seems like John Pilgrim and Billy Russo will be splitting the job as the main villain this season, we expect to see a final showdown between the latter and Frank. Billy can be heard saying “I want him to feel what I felt.” in the trailer. This is a personal feud, and if this does wind up being final season, it would only be fitting to see these end things.
