Whiskey Cavalier season 1, episode 4 recap: Mrs. and Mr. Trowbridge

Will and Frankie are #fakerelationshipgoals, and this week, Whiskey Cavalier gave us a tiny glimpse into what “love” between them might look like.

Whiskey Cavalier is only four episodes in and I am absolutely in love with every second of it. Watching Will and Frankie banter and argue is the highlight of my week and the chemistry between Lauren Cohan and Scott Foley is fire. Yes, it’s that good and they are the ship we are all rooting for–let’s hope the slow buildup will all be worth it in the end.

This week’s mission for Will and Frankie was to portray a happily married couple in order to infiltrate a wedding in the south side of France. Side note: How does Whiskey Cavalier manage to pull off going to such amazing places? Watching Frankie try and suppress her emotional side is a point to be noted from this week’s episode because being around Will makes it difficult not to be all about the feels and emotions.

But if this week is any proof it is that Frankie can be mushy gushy and if we need more proof than that then reference the “fake kiss” between her and Will. It certainly lasted longer than it was meant to, and we don’t mind at all. Being in France at a wedding doesn’t help Will’s emotions either considering he’s just gone through a breakup. But the both of them had a job to do and that’s what he had to focus on despite whatever he is feeling.

It was a shame that Susan didn’t join the group on the mission and had to stick back to hack into security and such. She was sorely missed, but her background commentary was enough to keep us content. Also, are her and Ray going to hook up? They were getting awfully close in the episode, don’t you think?

So what exactly was this week’s mission? Frankie and Will had to pretend to be a couple attending the wedding of Will’s good friend, who was actually just undercover to expose his “future” father-in-law. And in pursuit of trying to snag their target, a few interesting things went down. Frankie hooked up with one of the groomsmen, managed to kill one of the bridesmaids that recognized Will, and somehow made Will jealous from her hookup, even though it’s a fake marriage. It was a pretty action-packed episode for attending a wedding.

By the end of it, the mission is a success because even though the bride learns that her groom was lying all this time, the love was real. She even ended up helping him catch her father by shooting him in the leg (yeah, told you the love was real). And if all that isn’t enough to walk away with a smile, there’s always the fact that Frankie and Will are definitely getting closer and we can’t wait to see where this takes us.
