WandaVision: Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany respond to new Disney+ series
Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany are heading to Disney+ for WandaVision!
Disney gave the world a preview of their upcoming streaming service with an impressive display. Not only did the company set an official launch date and price, but it also revealed which major shows would be coming. Among them is the highly anticipated Scarlet Witch and Vision series, now officially titled WandaVision.
Marvel fans have been eagerly awaiting any news about potential series on Disney+ with WandaVision being one of the more popular shows. The two characters have become fan favorites despite remaining secondary heroes in the major team up films. A television show will certainly allow the MCU to expand on their stories without making it into a film franchise.
Kevin Feige, Marvel Chief, briefly spoke about the upcoming series and says it won’t be anything that fans expect.

"“We like to take big swings at Marvel Studios … this story is definitely something unexpected and surprising, as well as something we can only do in a longform series.”"
(Warning: Marvel comics spoilers) The most well-known Scarlet Witch storyline is House of M, an X-Men arc which could now happen after the FOX merger. While this could help explain why there are no mutants in the MCU, it could also help introduce her twin sons, Billy and Tommy, who go on to join the Young Avengers in the comics. With Cassie Lang already introduced in the universe and Kate Bishop allegedly on her way, these two would seem like natural additions.
Thankfully, Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany will be reprising their characters for WandaVision. Bettany commented on the news first with an Instagram post expressing his excitement to return to the role. According to Feige, all of the Marvel series will take place post-Avengers: Endgame. Could this mean the team manages to bring Vision back somehow?
Elizabeth Olsen reposted his image with a comment of her own. While it’s exciting to see Vision back, it’s even better to know Scarlet Witch will still be kicking. The films only began hinting at the extent of her power and comic book fans know she is a force to be reckoned with. In fact, since Avengers: Infinity War, there have been huge debates about who is the strongest: Thor, Dr. Strange, or Scarlet Witch.
It’s been said previously but Feige also reiterated that these Disney+ shows will tie into the larger MCU and will be on a film budget. Considering the movies have largely ignored the Netflix/Defenders universe and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. this will be a refreshing change.
