Daredevil fans campaign for Emmys for the canceled Netflix series
The grassroots #SaveDaredevil campaign has launched a new effort by Daredevil fans on behalf of the canceled Netflix series: an Emmy campaign.
Daredevil was canceled after a lauded third season on Netflix to the dismay of fans everywhere. In response, fans launched #SaveDaredevil, an online effort to revive the series. Now that team has taken things a step further and started a “For You Consideration” campaign that they’re hoping could get the series’ an Emmy Award nomination or two, as reported by Comicbook.com.
On the website daredevilfyc.com, organizers are explicit about their aims, explaining:
"In the absence of a proper FYC campaign in support of Daredevil Season 3, we decided to design what we think they could have done for our show!"
The website includes a number of graphics that anyone is free to use to support the campaign via social media.

The campaign is specifically hoping to garner awards for the series in seven categories, including Outstanding Drama Series. In addition, it is championing nominations for three of the series’ actors: Charlie Cox who played Matt Murdock/Daredevil in the category of Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series, Vincent D’Onofrio who played Wilson Fisk/Kingpin in the category of Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series, and Deborah Ann Woll who played Karen Page in the category of Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.
Emmy campaigns are typically run by the studios behind each series. However, given Daredevil‘s unceremonious cancellation by Netflix, the streamer is unlikely to put much into an Emmy campaign for the series. Still, it’s unusual for fans to take matters into their own hands in this way.
Whether or not it’s seen and heeded by Emmy voters has yet to be seen, although superhero series generally tend to be ignored by the Emmys even under the best of circumstances. It’s possible that knowing fans are behind this Emmys push could change the calculus in voters’ minds, however, especially given that Daredevil‘s third season was critically adored.
If the series does pick up a nomination, it’s most likely to happen in the Outstanding Stunt Coordination for a Drama Series, Limited Series or Movie category, which the campaign is also supporting Daredevil for.
Emmy nominations are officially announced on July 16th. Should Daredevil garner a nod or two, the winners will be announced during the Primetime Emmy Awards on September 22.
If you want to help the campaign, be sure to go to the Daredevil FYC campaign’s website, download a graphic and share it on all your social media channels.
