HBO's Euphoria season 1, episode 3 recap: Made You Look

In this week’s Euphoria titled “Made You Look”, we learn about the types of dick pics and we get to see a micropenis alongside a very disrespectful animated sexual scene between Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson.

Back when Euphoria premiered, I knew there were going be plenty of penises and just in three episodes thanks to some early warnings. But it has surpassed all of my expectations and delivered a massive amount of penises that it has almost gotten to the point of being unwatchable. Anyhoo, let’s just leave it at that.

“Made You Look” focuses on Kat’s character. The episode starts with Zendaya’s Rue narrating her life story, we find out that Kat’s story was not always dark and sad but was once happy and filled with love but then she suddenly gained 20 pounds when she was 12 after she discovered that she loved virgin pina coladas and ended up drinking 72 of them in one week. And after that, her boyfriend dumped her for another girl and Kat found solace in watching Gilmore Girls, True Blood, and Scandal. She distanced herself from the real world and started spending too much time on the internet.

And she actually did manage to get popularity online because of an erotic fan fiction she wrote about Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson of One Direction where they have oral sex.

Now, that was one of the major complaints from “Made You Look”, the fact that the former One Direction members have clarified again and again that they are just best mates. They’ve spoken about how this fanship has not only affected their friendship but their past relationships and even after that. Using this on a TV show was distasteful as well as disrespectful. The idea of using fan fiction to convey teen behavior was good but using these two as an example was really demeaning.

Personal thoughts aside, this fan fiction made her into a Tumblr celebrity but none of her followers knew who she was and nobody in school even knew she was famous. Her high school life basically remained the same. After her video going viral on Pornhub, Kat has different ideas of getting famous and making money. She takes a lesson on Bitcoin from Fez’s little brother to get money anonymously from a man who worships her and wants her to humiliate him for his tiny penis in exchange. And believe me, that is definitely as disturbing to watch as it sounds.

Other than that, “Made You Look” also shows us that Hunter Schafer’s Jules is falling for ShyGuy118 aka Jacob Elordi’s Nate but she has no idea it’s him. She is exchanging half nudes with him and he is sending her dick pics, this is the part where we get a whole lesson on the types of dick pics.

Jules has agreed to meet Nate in a dark, strange place, which is definitely not a good idea as Rue keeps telling her. Rue also has a crush on Jules.

Nate seems to really care for Jules in texts but I’m afraid that all of it just an act.

Despite Rue continues to tell her it’s not a good idea, but she still wants to go along with it. And they get into a fight but eventually, they make up where Rue ends up trying to kiss her, but Jules awkwardly doesn’t kiss her back.

Rue gets a chip for being clean for 60 days at Narcotics Anonymous even though she was only clean for about two weeks and when she was accepting the chip, she actually was high again, although a new guy comes into play and asks her to stop lying to everybody and offers her to help her in really getting clean and after Fezco refuses to give her any more drugs in a heart-wrenching scene portrayed wonderfully by Zendaya, where she blames him for her current condition, she eventually accepts his offer.

And that’s about all that happened in the newest episode of Euphoria titled “Made You Look”. It was not boring but it was not good either.
