The first look at Ryan Murphy’s first Netflix Original series, The Politician is here!
The Politician will mark Ryan Murphy’s first-ever Netflix Original series after he made a pretty epic deal with them just last year. It’s been a long time coming, and I’m so excited we’re finally getting to see his work on Netflix come to life.
Earlier this week, a handful of images were released giving us a sneak peek into The Politician and it is pretty freaking exciting (you can take a look at them below). Now, some of you may not even know about the series or what it will be about, but don’t worry, we got you.
First things first, the series stars some Ryan Murphy favorites including Jessica Lange, followed by Gwyneth Paltrow, Ben Platt, Laura Dreyfuss, amongst many more. Just taking that cast into account, you know we’re in for a huge treat. Now, let’s move onto the synopsis/plot of the show, which is perhaps the most exciting thing about it.

The Politician follows Platt’s character, Payton, who attends a Santa Barbara high school with hopes of entering the political world someday. In fact, he’s dreamt of becoming the President of the United States since a very young age, but before he can get there, he has to get through one major obstacle–high school.
Considering Platt is much older than the average high school student, I think it’s going to be absolutely hilarious to see him play one. How will he ever pull it off? Something tells me he will be just fine and it will only add to the value of the entire series.
Many of us have been eagerly awaiting for the premiere of The Politician and now we just have a little over a month left before it begins streaming on Netflix–and I simply can’t wait.
