In this week’s Snowfall, Andre owes Franklin a big favor and his car insurance company a wide explanation.

We saw it last week. Those eyes, Melody’s sweet innocent eyes. They disappeared and went pin needle when she took her first hit of crack. Her world shrank quicker than her pupils. Her life’s goals were now finding more of Franklin’s highly addictive and profitable product on Snowfall.

Melody never came home. She never will again. Like Wanda the Walker, she will soon develop a crack head nickname. Pretty Girl Mel was Wanda’s first suggestion. He first through fifth suggestions that Melody hit the pipe, Melody denied. The sixth time though, Melody decided that smoking crack is the best way to deal with having your car stolen. No, your dad’s car, the policeman’s dad’s car.

Who can remember? The crack has set in. So Melody had a great time rolling skating while high, after committing breaking and entering crimes. Then she was the victim of an assault and robbery. Once a crack head runs out of a rock to smoke, the fun and games are over. Melody will learn the hard way. Everyone does.

So will Andre and Franklin. Andre had to beg Franklin to search for her. Leon gave Franklin a good ribbing, and Franklin denied still being in a relationship with her. But no one believes he is over Melody. Leon isn’t over Wanda in a way.

Andre is now in debt to Franklin, just by coming through that door and asking for help. Franklin is now understanding what Leon already knew.

Leon was just minding his business, getting high to gospel music on a Sunday. Franklin tried to call him on it, but Leon was quick to check Franklin. He told him to stop trying rocks in his glasshouse.

And then he went and decided to act high and mighty, saying Melody was better Wanda. That argument almost split up the brains and brawn of the whole operation, until Leon talked some sense into Franklin. Once he accepted that this addictive enterprise could overcome innocent Melody in the right situation, it becomes business.

Finding her means having an LAPD officer owe a favor and that is a good business move. Business is booming, and judging by all of the sexual scenes, one of the members of the enterprise will branch out into prostitution soon.

Manboy is a good bet. He decided to become a boss man this episode. He is really stepping up and stepping into situations. He is actually saving lives. Twice Leon would have blasted guys he had just met and went back to his gospel music easy as a Sunday morning. Manboy jumped in and showed fear, not fatalities, might be the way to rule over the lower class criminals.

Franklin is trying to separate himself from the street game. Leon wants to lord over it but could be at the other end of the gun someday. Manboy wants it to operate without any more of his acquaintances getting killed. He does make it a point to know everyone.

Andre wants his daughter back, and that will never happen. It was tough for Frankling to admit to his mother when Cissy asked if Melody was okay. Teddy just wants to make one more drug run, but ask where else he could serve. He had to, he was all but being told he was done in the drug game. When supply dries up, problems will stack up.

Speaking of stacks. Melody just wants all that cash Franklin gave her so that she can go find another rock, not a ride to college. She doesn’t much care for her mother’s necklace either.  However, now Leon and Franklin can ride along together both in the knowledge there are no saints in the game. Melody smoked that myth quicker than a crack rock.

Then she cracked Wanda over the head with a garden gnome, because that is how crack heads solve problems. With supply drying up, how will Snowfall solve the problems in the back half of the season?
