FX teams up with Noah Hawley on a new horror thriller. The Bridgewater Triangle is based on a short story about a real part of New England. We’ve got details!

In an exclusive from Deadline, FX has acquired the rights to Brian Miller’s The Bridgewater Triangle. The show will be produced by Noah Hawley (Legion) through his production company, 26 Keys. Per the Deadline report, this is part of Hawley’s overall deal with the network that has included Hawley creating and show-running Fargo and Legion.

According to Boston.com, The Bridgewater Triangle is a 200 square mile part of Eastern Massachusetts. It includes the largest swamp in New England, Big Foot sightings, and a haunted hospital.

One of the creepiest sounding occurrences happens on Copicut Road, where a ghost trucker tailgates drivers and honks his horn before suddenly disappearing. Ghost hunters reportedly flock to the area because of the large number of occurrences of paranormal activity.

Deadline includes the synopsis of the FX show. It’s an apocalyptic horror thriller set in the communities that make up The Bridgewater Triangle. A big paranormal event hits all of the communities at the same time. The area is devastated, but three siblings must come together so they can save it.

This sounds interesting. Based on the descriptions of the real area, it seems to become considered a sort of gateway of paranormal activity for the Eastern Seaboard of the United States.

I’m excited to see Hawley’s treatment of the material. I loved what he did with Legion. That was one trippy romp through a powerful mutant’s existential crisis that nearly destroyed the world. A few of the episodes felt like mini horror movies. The look, sound, and storytelling of the show were refreshing and unique.
