Who is leaving those cryptic tree messages on Fear The Walking Dead?

Fear The Walking Dead starts off with Strand coming to Alicia’s rescue as walkers begin to surround her. You would think that by now these guys would know better than to get cornered by the undead, but nope. However, Alicia does have a good reason for not being able to kill any walkers. After being poisoned by radiation and having a death scare, she’s just out of it.

Wes, the guy whose motorcycle Logan destroyed, ends up reaching out via walkie-talkie so Strand and Alicia head out to help him. It’s the least they can do after Logan assumed Wes was with them. He asks to be taken to a police station where he and his brother are currently living.

Things take a weird turn there when Wes doesn’t find his brother and instead the group ends up fighting off walkers with tear gas–and Strand gets blinded. Could things get any worse? Yes, yes they could.

After leaving the mall drama behind, Morgan finds Al and ends up helping her with storing away her tapes in a secret place. Confused as to why Morgan is helping out at all, he finally confesses he has feelings for Grace, but he feels like it means that he has to say goodbye to his family.

Strand and Alicia ask Al and Morgan to go after the guy that came running out of the police station. Unluckily for them, Logan is listening over the radio and cuts them off before they can make it very far. All he wants to know is where those darn oil fields are, but no one will tell him! Because Logan has seen the tapes, he knows all about Morgan’s family and uses it against him just to get a rise out of him.

Fear The Walking Dead shifts the focus back on Alicia who comes face to face with a walker and completely freezes. And it’s a blinded Strand who comes to the rescue and takes down the walker. Come on, Alicia! I know you can do this.

In a plot twist, Alicia learns that the person writing the words on the trees ended up being Wes himself. Well, then. After this big revelation, Alicia turned over a new leaf and decided to start leaving some notes behind herself.

As this episode of Fear The Walking Dead came to a close, we see Logan find where Al and Morgan hid the tapes. He’s hopeful that somewhere within the tapes the location of the oil fields is revealed. But is he going to be the one to watch all the tapes? Nope, he’s going to have someone else do it.

Nice, Logan, nice.
