9-1-1 gives us the most heartbreaking episode we’ve probably ever seen in the series. I’m still trying to process through my feelings for it, if I’m being honest. The issues begin with Hen and Karen, who are trying to work through their recent IVF failure. While Hen is trying to look ahead, Karen is extremely down about it. She isn’t talking to anyone, barely sleeping, and doesn’t even want to talk to Hen about what she’s going through.

She and Karen can’t see eye to eye over their situation, and it’s basically tearing Hen apart. She can’t concentrate at work and is completely off her game. This lack of attention and focus is what brings us to a very tragic moment at the end of the episode.

With all the distractions Hen was experiencing, she didn’t realize it would be the very thing that would take someone’s life. Now, this is the moment you’ll want to brace yourself. 9-1-1 cuts to a scene in which we see a young woman named Evelyn getting ready for her Los Angeles Philharmonic performance.

She practices for her grandmother who can’t make it to the performance, but couldn’t be more proud. She talks to her mother on the phone who says Evelyn’s father can’t figure out what shirt to wear. It’s all very adorable and exciting, until, Evelyn gets into a car accident…caused by Hen.

Ugh, yes. I told you it was going to be very, very difficult to read about.

Evelyn dies on the scene, and never makes it to that performance. Luckily, Bobby had called Athena on the way to be there for Hen, who is an absolute mess over what’s just happened.

I think this is going to change the course of 9-1-1 forever. I don’t know what the heck is going to happen but I’m still trying to wipe away the tears from my face.

Based on Hen’s reaction, I think she’s going to put herself in a world of trouble by telling the truth. Athena tries to advise her against it, but something tells me, Hen isn’t going to listen. Shout out to Aisha Hinds for a phenomenal performance. Her acting took things to the next level, and it was absolutely soul-crushing.

9-1-1 really wanted to bring the feels to this episode as Eddie continues to participate in fighting. He’s making money, and it’s a place for him to take out his rage. That is until he hurts his opponent to the point that he knows back his nasal bone into his mouth. Not only did Lena find out what happened, but she tried to help Eddie out by bringing Bobby into the mix.

Whew, that was one hell of an episode, and I’m very scared to see what comes next.
