The holidays came early on 9-1-1 this week!

9-1-1 was in the holiday spirit during this week’s episode, and it was all sorts of cheer and celebration. Well, not everything was in the Christmas spirit, but you get what I’m saying. First things first, Bobby’s health is A-okay! I know many of us were fearful for his life after the radiation exposure, and then that nosebleed. But the lab reports came back all clear!

But while Bobby is out of the dark, there’s another family member that is dealing with a very real health scare. Athena’s ex-husband, Michael, has a brain tumor. His behavior throughout the episode is erratic, to say the least.

He sleepwalks, sleep drives, even climbs into bed with Athena, and then walks through a glass plate. All of this is attributed to a brain tumor, as we learn at the end of the episode. We’ll have to wait until Jan. 2020 to find out what will come of that, but man, I’m heartbroken.

Maddie deals with a lot during 9-1-1’s midseason finale, but it’s all a part of her recovery. She returns to the scene of her ex’s death. She still feels a big sense of guilt surrounding his death, but she finally forgives herself. Maybe we’ll see her relationship with Chimney grow in a completely different way!

Given that it’s Christmas time, station 118 will be working on Christmas Day. Christopher isn’t too psyched to learn that Eddie will be gone on the first Christmas without his mom.

Thanks to Athena and Buck, however, Christmas is saved with a surprise dinner at the station. It’s all so very sweet, besides the Michael health reveal, of course.

One of the cases during this week’s episode involves a young boy whose mother has a cardiac episode. Given that he’s too young, he’s sent off to a group home until his mother recuperates and returns home. Hen forges a connection with him during that time, and it prompts her and her wife to foster more children. They have so much love to give, so why not!?

All in all, we got a pretty solid midseason finale, but my heart is still trying to recover from Michael’s health reveal. Here’s to hoping he’ll be okay!

We’ll see you guys in the new year (probably March, ugh)!
