A man with Salvador Dali says he chose it due to chaos and beauty. Another person has a trilogy of Jeff Goldblum artwork on his body. It’s competition time: Best of Show is the category of interest. “All tattoos are beautiful say the judges”.
There is some impressive body art. Jeff obviously wants to award everyone prizes. The godmother of American tattooing, ‘Shanghai Kate’ is next up; she’s been inking for 50 years. Beginning with classic and diversifying thereafter, and opining that the taste for tattoos is innate.
Subsequently, Jeff has a lesson in tattooing; he is delighted to tattoo a fake hand. The inventor of the lightbulb, Thomas Edison, also created electric tattooing. Still wondering why we have them, Jeff speculates that it is for individuality reasons. Or could it be deeper?
Hawaii
In Hawaii, where tribal tattoos are traditional cultural and heritage related, Jeff is on the water with famous surfers and lifeguards. They discuss their ink: navigation, canoes, the sun, heaven as well as sharks representing energy. Parts of the body only have certain body art.

San Francisco
Tech start-ups near silicon valley are investigating to create medical advances in tattooing. Having too much sun than having a tattoo react to warn the wearer, is one idea. The inventor tells Jeff that glucose along with cholesterol could emerge. Afterward, the duo hilariously fails to reenact a scene from Notting Hill.
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
It’s Jeff Goldblum Day in his hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; naturally, Jeff obliges all locals with his presence and selfies galore.
Finding it hard to understand why a typical ‘Goldblumite’ gets a tattoo of him, Jeff explores. His intention is to do the same. Though settles for tattooing a doctor with his own image. A scientific explanation of permanent inking follows. We don’t learn, annoyingly, why they have Goldblum tats.
While tattooing the man Jeff seems calm, succeeding in doing a small amount of filling or coloring. Affirmation is Jeff’s theory as to why people have tattoos: ‘this is me, this is who I am’.
