In episode 6 of Netflix series Daybreak, Turbo makes a sacrifice to save face, Angelica faces a “big, bad wolf” and Josh’s life gets complicated.

Previously on Daybreak, Wesley Fists (Austin Crute) had to make a decision: Assassinate Josh Wheeler (Colin Ford) or risk the lives of everyone! It culminated in a fake-out mall battle, which was lost by Turbo “Bro Jock” Pokaski (Cody Kearsley) and his “Jocks.” It’s also apparent that, sometime during the battle, Turbo was hit by an arrow from his own tribe. Mona Lisa (Jeanté Godlock) calls it “a snake in our house.”

However, betrayal and dishonesty isn’t just a thing for the bad guys. Eli Cardashyan (Gregory Kasyan) accidentally admits that he wanted to murder Josh to appease Turbo. Wesley’s in a little trouble, too, though he isn’t exactly as disloyal and he ultimately did the right thing. Also, after The Witch (Krysta Rodriguez) eats pages from Little Red Riding Hood, she warns Angelica (Alyvia Alyn Lind) of a wolf dressed as a grandma awaiting her at the cereal factory.

There is yet more dishonesty revealed: KJ (Chelsea Zhang) can actually speak English, which is sort of a lie by omission to Josh, who previously thought she didn’t understand him. Also, in a separate, non-dishonesty themed moment, we see Angelica trying to communicate with her mom over radio but having no luck.

Going after Turbo

Josh learns that KJ knows Aria Killigan (Sammi Hanratty) from the “Game Overs” tribe, and they plot to retaliate against Turbo. However, they are not successful. Though we see that Turbo’s dad (Joe Manganiello) was a humanitarian, Turbo most certainly is not! He ends up interrogating the Game Overs, making them watch gross physical education films. It’s ultimately learned that Gary (Mickey Dolan) may be the traitor with the user name “5318008” (which spells “BOOBIES” when typed into a calculator and flipped upside down).

Despite an impressive American Ninja Idol pop song performance, Gary is still sacrificed. However, in a huge twist, we see that Gary wasn’t a turncoat. Turbo simply wanted to look victorious and to keep his crew in line! That truly makes Turbo a villain, especially when Owen (Andrew Fox) blames himself for Turbo getting arrowed. Specifically, he says he didn’t apply linseed oil on the bow, making it misfire. Ouch!

Baron Triumph, The Witch and the wolf

There is more than one main villain in Daybreak. Angelica and The Witch are reunited with Baron Triumph (Matthew Broderick), who in better times was known as Principal Michael Burr. The Baron says he misses The Witch but knew her better as Ms. Crumble. Things take a darker turn, though, because Angelica gets her first period, which activates The Witch’s cannibal drive. As Angelica locks herself in the nearest bathroom, Baron Triumph awkwardly gives her advice on how to attend to her problem. Not only is The Witch like the “big, bad wolf” she predicted earlier, but she’s actually mutating more (as was Baron Triumph previously).

What about Josh?

Daybreak started off being mostly about Josh. However, it went off in different directions, offering many different narratives. Still, this episode gets a little more focus on him again, and his increasing interest in KJ. He learns that “KJ” stands for Karen Jane and there’s some burgeoning romance between them. However, when Josh watches a transmission sent by Turbo, he notices someone in the background: Samaira “Sam” Dean (Sophie Simnett). This changes a lot for Josh, but will he ditch KJ?
