In episode 3 of Netflix series V Wars, at least one new vampire is introduced, Swann argues with his ex-wife and cops close in on Fayne (again).

Previously on V Wars, Dr. Luther Swann (Ian Somerhalder) was under the thumb of the government and Kaylee Vo (Jacky Lai) learned more about the murderous Michael Fayne (Adrian Holmes). Episode 3 begins with a SWAT team responding to another attack. While Dr. Swann believes the virus is spreading, Claire O’Hagan (Kaniehtiio Horn) gives a public broadcast focusing solely on Fayne. Swann wants to join the quest to locate Fayne, telling the authorities that killing him will get them nowhere.

Later he says that, at the Arctic research facility revived an extinct species through prions, and that the vampires are parallel to humans. Meanwhile, the bike mechanics from last episode wonder where Monster (Ian Matthews) went. As they look for him, they find Paco (Spider Allen) dead — presumably killed by the now vampiric Monster.

More from Show Snob

V Wars then shows Fayne trading his Dodge Charger for a more generic, less conspicuous vehicle not tied to him. He lies about why.  He says he’s going through a divorce and wants to “get off the grid.” Elsewhere, Danika (Kimberly-Sue Murray) recognizes Fayne on the TV and is alarmed. She is also experiencing vampire symptoms, including enhanced senses and awareness of blood flow in others. She gets called by Mila (Laura Vandervoort) who says their mom is getting worse and they need a power of attorney agreement signed. However, when they meet up, Danika bites Mila’s throat. In addition to this, Monster attacks a biker but gets shot in the face. Also, Jack (Emmanuel Kabongo) and Dr. Swann scope out Fayne’s property and find a bloody body.

Swann’s ex

Kaylee, V Wars‘ additional agent of chaos, learns of Swann’s ex-wife, Rachel (Nikki Reed). Kaylee disguises her own identity and interviews Rachel, who trash-talks Luther Swann. Luther’s son, Dez (Kyle Breitkopf), sees the post and isn’t too happy with it. Neither is Dr. Swann, who’s offended by her saying Dez is not safe with him. At the same time, it’s true that Swann helped cover up Fayne’s murder (as we saw in the premiere).  Swann arranges to meets Rachel in a restaurant. Rather than de-escalate, Rachel starts a scene and slaps him. However, Jack points a gun at her, saying that she’s threatening national security by threatening a top scientist.

Fayne checks his e-mail outside a place ironically called “Silver Bullet” (silver bullets are normally considered useful in killing werewolves). He looks up “Michael Fayne manhunt” and sees a “Luther Swann kills wife” headline. Shortly after this, cop cars identify the fugitive Fayne in his truck and give chase. Initially, it’s a car chase, but they end up in the woods. One of the officers, Lyle (Simon Lee Phillips), is later found by Swann impaled on a tree. Swann calls Fayne, saying the authorities are coming to kill him.
