A Million Little Things season 2, episode 11 recap: We’re the Howards
By Ariba Bhuvad
Is anyone else worried about Gary on A Million Little Things?
A Million Little Things has fans worried about Gary and his well-being. He’s been taking his breakup with Maggie pretty hard, and as a result, has been spiraling in every sense of the word. This week’s episode does not calm our anxious Gary-loving hearts either. Sigh.
After a dramatic argument with Delilah, Sophie temporarily moved in with Regina and Rome. Things are going pretty well, and it’s even giving them a bit of parental practice since they are in the middle of the adoption process.
But they soon learn the reality of the difficulties one might face when raising children after Sophie ends up getting drunk with one of her friends. Rome fills Delilah in with what happens, and her being the mother she is, immediately “drops by” to check on Sophie.

Regina, future supermom, stops Delilah from trying to speak with Sophie. There’s something about your mother showing up during a hangover in the mood to give you a lecture. Time and space are what they decided on, and it’s what Regina feels Delilah needs to abide by.
Speaking of time, most of this week’s A Million Little Things episode revolves around Rome and Regina trying to record a video for the adoption agency.
They’re hoping to demonstrate that they will be good parents, but honestly, anyone that spends time with them will know that to be true.
Now, let’s talk about Gary. While at Sophie’s softball game, he ends up getting into an altercation with a racist man that accused Rome of filming young girls without permission.
Of course, Rome was just adding to the video he and Regina were creating but the man didn’t really seem to care.
Both Rome and Gary get arrested, but it’s Rome who is freaked out about the whole situation. He had to break down the differences in his and Gary’s lives and why he’s never had the luxury to behave the way Gary is. Basically, Gary needs to get his crap together and get his life back on track. Not everyone can have the “white male” privilege, which has been nothing like Rome’s world.

While Rome is released, Gary is taken to the station and has to call Katherine to bail him out. Maggie ends up joining her as she was babysitting and hanging out with Theo, who was having struggles of his own this week. The kid has been through a million little things, and he’s obviously going to lash out in some way.
Luckily, Team Eddie and Katherine are there to help guide the way!
Gary’s turbulent ride takes him all over the place this week, but it ends with him throwing Maggie’s stuff out–until he finds the “I’m in” post-it note. Well, then, that ought to remind him of the love he shares with Maggie!
