Gary comes face-to-face with his past on A Million Little Things.

A Million Little Things got pretty darn emotional this week, as the group came together to help a struggling Gary. Ever since his breakup with Maggie, he hasn’t exactly been doing that great. And let’s not even talk about his anger issues. Those have gotten him in enough trouble already.

But before we get into the “Gary” of it all, let’s talk about Maggie. As you may recall, she and Eric kissed…and it was awkward. Mainly because Eric is lying to her about having her brother’s heart and doesn’t want her to know that he doesn’t actually have a scar from the surgery.

So when Maggie shows up to his apartment and learns that he’s moving out, things go sideways. He tries to explain it away by saying that he can’t be where his ex used to live, but there’s a bit more to that story. Maggie finds a picture of him from Halloween where he’s shirtless…and has no scar.

So, what is Eric’s story? Thankfully, A Million Little Things reveals it.

It turns out Eric’s fiance had Chad’s heart, not Eric. A fact that Chad later shares with Maggie in what was an intensely emotional moment. Ironically, Gary had warned Maggie of Eric’s shady, secretive behavior. It’s sad she had to learn this way.

Speaking of Gary, he’s convinced to road trip with Delilah and Rome to New York City to confront his mother. She’s performing in a play there, and given his recent behavior, it’s due time.

The visit doesn’t go exactly as we may have hoped for Gary, but it is enough to remind him of what needs to be done.

No, he won’t get back with Maggie–but things are better between them now. I’m sad they aren’t together right now, they brought out the best in one another! Come on, A Million Little Things, give the fans what we want!

We welcomed back guest star Jerry Ferrara in this week’s episode, but I’m sad to report, his character sucks. Remember how his character Todd, asked Rome to change around his script that involved depression and suicide?

Well, he stole the script and basically decided to pitch his own movie. NOT COOL!

Luck, however, is on Rome’s side because not only does he give Todd a piece of his mind in front of a potential cast member, but he winds up getting his project back. The actor wants Rome to do the version of the movie he wanted, not whatever Todd has in store.

Also, I loved the detour into Regina and her mother’s storyline this week. They haven’t had the greatest relationship but her mother is over the moon to hear that she and Rome are adopting. But the question of race comes up and causes some friction between the two, but I think it was a necessary addition to their relationship. There was an underlying, unsaid tension there, and I think them finally airing it out made a big difference with their character development.
