BoJack Horseman season 6, episode 13 recap: The Horny Unicorn
By Ariba Bhuvad
After the most difficult interview of his life, BoJack Horseman deals with what life has in store for him–and it’s not looking too great.
BoJack Horseman has to find a way to move on after giving the most difficult interview of his life. It tore into one of his biggest secrets, and it has left him with a lot to think about. After settling with Sarah Lynn’s family for nearly $1 million and getting the number one spot on the list of 100 Most Hated Men, things aren’t exactly easy.
Worse yet, no one will hire him, his friends won’t talk to him, and any money he has left is exponentially going out the door. He’s left with very little options, so he decides to sell his mansion. Throughout the course of BoJack Horseman, we’ve seen people come and go from his life because of the way he is.
However, Mr. Peanutbutter and Princess Carolyn have always stuck by. It’s a reminder that even during the toughest of times, the good ones stick around–no matter what. Unfortunately, with BoJack being at an all-time low, he befriends the horrendous Vance Waggoner once again.

They get up to no good throughout the episode and eventually decide that they are going to start their own show–The Horny Unicorn. The episode gets interesting when Vance and BoJack try to go to Todd’s party but are denied entry. Instead, they end up going to the USC campus where Vance starts yelling at his daughter.
It’s not the best place for BoJack Horseman to be after everything that went down with his past. But can we blame him? His life is in shambles and he has no one else to spend time with.
I mean, Diane is busy in Chicago writing her book while Todd is truly settling down. Where does this leave BoJack?
I think what is the most heartbreaking angle of this episode is when BoJack finally works up the nerve to read a letter from Hollyhock. The situation with Penny led her to push him away as far as she could, and unfortunately, the interviews didn’t help.
It’s unclear what the letter said, but the look on his face gives it away. It wasn’t what he wanted, and Hollyhock may be gone from his life–forever.
