We’re kicking off a new week with some of the best critically-acclaimed shows to watch or DVR. Monday is one of the strongest days of the week with a double-showing of HBO’s latest hit series, The Third Day and We Are Who We Are.
Unfortunately, there aren’t a lot of notable hits this week, and the next couple of months will be even slower due to the impending break. Still, there are some critically-acclaimed shows worth watching this week, especially as the highly-anticipated third season of Star Trek: Discovery will finally debut on CBS All Access!
Here are the five best critically-acclaimed shows to watch this week.

The third part of The Third Day continues in Episode 5 “Tuesday – The Daughter.” In it, Helen reveals her real motive for traveling to Osea. Meanwhile, a mysterious young girl befriends Ellie and invites her to a place typically forbidden to outsiders.

We Are Who We Are
Also airing tonight on HBO is the penultimate hour of Luca Guadagnino’s series We Are Who We Are. Episode 5, “Right here, right now #5,” will follow the escalating power struggle between Sarah and Richard. Danny starts to learn more about Islam and wonders about his biological father, while Caitlin turns to Fraser for help.
We Are Who We Are airs tonight on HBO at 10/9c and will also be available to stream on HBO Max.
Supernatural
The final batch of episodes from Supernatural Season 15 continues on Thursday night with “Gimme Shelter.” Castiel and Jack work on a case that involves members of a local church while Sam and Dean search for Amara.
Supernatural airs Thursday, Oct. 15 at 8/7c on The CW.
Star Trek: Discovery
Star Trek: Discovery is finally back this week! The Season 3 premiere episode, “That Hope Is You,” will begin streaming on Thursday. Over 900 years into her future, Burnham navigates a strange new galaxy while searching for the rest of the Discovery crew.
Star Trek: Discovery will stream at midnight on Thursday, Oct. 15 on CBS All Access.
The Last Kids on Earth
The third season of Netflix’s hit animated series The Last Kids on Earth finally debuts this Friday, and it’s a perfect way to relax with your family during the spooky season. Season 3 will continue Jack’s journey with his best friends during the apocalypse.
All ten episodes of The Last Kids on Earth Season 3 will begin streaming on Friday, Oct. 16 on Netflix.
