Marvel Disney Plus will be bursting at the seams with new content over the next few years. Marvel Disney Plus: What’s new and who’s returning?

At the event, Kevin Feige, president, Marvel Studios, and chief creative officer, Marvel, confirmed rumors about characters joining the MCU, new cast members, and revealed new series.

After months of speculation, Hailee Steinfeld was finally confirmed to be playing Kate Bishop in Hawkeye. Recently, set images of the actor in costume had been leaked, so it wasn’t the biggest surprise for most fans. Other confirmed cast members include Vera Farmiga and newcomer Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez/ Echo.

Fiege finally put fans at ease with his announcement that Tatiana Maslany was indeed starring as Jennifer Walters in She-Hulk. Tim Roth will be reprising his role as the Abomination from The Incredible Hulk, and Mark Ruffalo is returning to the MCU as Bruce Banner/ The Hulk.

Moon Knight remains a mystery, with the only information shared that the show would leverage Egyptian iconography. Egyptian screenwriter and director Mohamed Diab will helm the show.

New shows revealed at the event include a family-friendly series of shorts following everyone’s favorite talking tree, I Am Groot.

Don Cheadle will be back as James Rhodes/ War Machine in Armor Wars. The series is based on the classic Iron Man comic book event of the same name, and will follow Rhodey as he deals with the consequences of Tony Stark’s worst nightmare—what if the Iron Man tech fell into the wrong hands?

Another comic book adaptation will be Secret Invasion, starring Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Ben Mendelsohn as the Skrull, Talos. In the series, shape-shifting Skrulls have been infiltrating Earth for years, leading to inevitable trust issues.

The biggest surprise of the event was the announcement that an Ironheart series has been greenlit. Riri Williams is a newer legacy character, but she’s won fans during her short time as a comic book character. Now, Riri will be brought to life on screen by Dominique Thorne, who will play the character as she builds an Iron Man suit of her own.
