Where can you watch Modern Family on streaming?
By Mads Lennon
The Emmy Award-winning ABC sitcom Modern Family is finally going to be available to stream in full in the very near future after years of being annoyingly elusive. Considering how popular the show was during the height of its popularity, I always found it surprising that the family comedy wasn’t available for instantaneous streaming.
I believe the primary reason for this was due to syndication deals made for the show back in its early days before it went to air for more than a decade and before streaming was the biggest thing on the television market.
But starting next week, all 250 episodes of Modern Family will be available to stream on two different services as part of a multi-year shared agreement with Disney Media and Entertainment Distribution, per Collider.
In the past, Modern Family did air new episodes next-day on Hulu but never before has the entire show been available to watch all in one place. Starting next week, you’ll be able to watch the series on either Peacock TV or Hulu.
Modern Family will be available to stream starting on February 3.
As for when you can watch the show, it won’t be too much longer before you can catch up with the beloved Dunphys, Prichetts and Tuckers. You only have to wait until Wednesday, February 3! I’m guessing that the series will officially go live at 3:01 a.m. ET on Peacock TV and Hulu, although it could be as early as 12:01 a.m. ET!

It’ll be interesting to see if Modern Family becomes as popular as other sitcoms available on streaming like The Office and Friends. It’s just as acclaimed as those two, if not more so, and ran for even more seasons than either of them!
“Peacock is home to a massive catalog of iconic movies and shows, so a groundbreaking comedy like ‘Modern Family’ is a perfect addition and representative of the quality entertainment our free and premium customers enjoy on the service. Because viewers of all ages love Modern Family, we are creating a fan experience on Peacock that goes beyond just episodes of the series to include curated collections, bonus content, and more,” said Val Boreland, Executive Vice President, Content Acquisitions, NBCUniversal Entertainment, Television & Streaming.
“Thanks to its sharp writing and an eccentric but exceedingly likable cast of characters, ‘Modern Family’ ushered in the return of the family sitcom and offered viewers a unique and refreshing portrayal of family life. We were fortunate to bring this beloved series to Hulu audiences next-day during its celebrated run, and now we’re excited to offer every episode so new fans can meet the Pritchetts, Dunphys and Tuckers and old friends can visit them again,” said Brian Henderson, Vice President, Content Partnerships, Hulu.
It is surprising that Peacock TV would get the rights to the show since it’s part of NBCUniversal and not Disney, but it’s nice that people have a choice now if they already have Hulu and don’t want to get Peacock TV or vice versa.
