True Detective Season 2: Who is Justin Lin?

The second season of the hit HBO series True Detective is almost about to begin production, and there are still a lot of questions fans have about what the series will be about and who will be helping out with everything. With production set to begin in October, Justin Lin’s name is being mentioned more and more which is something either angering or confusing fans of the show.

Some fans are aware of who Lin is, but not everyone knows the director or his body of work. No one knew who Cary Fukunaga was last year but he’s now a director many True Detective fans will be following as he continues his career. Lin is a different story though, as he’s been around cinema for a while and has a track record that isn’t exciting many fans.
If you don’t know who Lin is, he’s best known for his job behind the camera on the last four Fast and Furious movies and is credited with reviving a one note series and making it into a giant franchise. That’s what Lin brings to the series, but it’s something that some fans see as clashing with what has been established in season one.
But remember, the second season is going to be much different from the first and Lin’s presence is very telling of this.
