True Detective star says Breaking Bad deserved to win Emmy award
By Josh Hill
True Detective is going to be getting another shot at an Emmy Award next year but the show that beat it in 2014 will not. That’s likely why Breaking Bad won the Best Drama Emmy this year, but a major creative mind behind the first season of True Detective is sticking up for the hit AMC series.

In an interview with the Boston Herald, Emmy-award winning director Cary Fukunaga admitted that he thought Breaking Bad deserved to win the Best Drama Emmy over True Detective.
"Though he admitted that “Breaking Bad” and other, more established series “deserve to win the awards,” Fukunaga conceded that “any kind of recognition is great for the show… it’s awesome that people are recognizing the value of the quality of the work.”"
He’s not the only one who thought this way, as Breaking Bad isn’t just the best show of 2014 — it’s perhaps the best show of all-time. People still can’t stop thinking or talking about how solid that series was, and that’s the sort of success that True Detective can strive for moving forward.
