HBO is set to being production on the new season of True Detective soon, which means that things are starting to come together behind the scenes. It’s hard to keep track of things though, as there has been so much going on in a short amount of time that you can’t be blamed for missing out on certain information. Specifiably, the setting of the show has been all over the place with rumors, so getting lost isn’t something you should feel bad about.
The latest rumor has True Detective being set in California, just outside of Los Angeles but not in the city itself. There’s a good chance that Colin Farrell’s character is based out of Los Angeles, but just like the first season there will be plenty of small town love on set.
The locations can always change, but for now, we know for sure that California is the setting and the smaller towns in the state could play a big role.
