Will True Detective start production in October 2014?
By Josh Hill
The second season of the hit HBO series True Detective is right around the corner — or maybe it isn’t. While it seems to be the general presumption that the series is going to start production this month, there has been no indication that the entire cast has been filled out, which complicates the shooting process more tan a little bit.

As it stands, Rachel McAdams is the favorite to come away with the lead role, but that hasn’t happened yet. So the question is, will she be cast in time for an October 2014 production start date for the series?
That what seems to be holding things up, as the other two leads on the show have heavy favorites to land the roles but no one definitively cast as of yet. That’s a problem, to say the least, as missing shooting dates in October could push the show back fro it’s original January 2015 release date.
Only time will tell.
