True Detective’s first season was a hit when it debuted and fans are still raving about what we saw happen. One of the things that fans have been doing in this void of True Detective has been digging into the eight existing episodes to find interesting little Easter Eggs that give the show even more depth.

One of the latest Easter Eggs seems to be a nod to the infamous Bigfoot picture, but the biggest question is why?

A clever Reddit user called manhole_man pointed out that there is an awfully striking similarity between Reggie Ledoux in his gas mask and the infamous Bigfoot photo.

Now, it’s not exact and it may be reading way too into it, but there could easily be a reason for this being included. For starters, the correlation between boogiemen isn’t to be lost on anyone, as both characters represent something brooding, scary and unknown about what we fear.

Bigfoot is also a monster, which is easily to say that Reggie Ledoux is a monster — something we know is confirmed.
