The second season of the hit HBO series True Detective is right around the corner — or is it? We say it a lot, but is the new season of the hit HBO show really right around the corner, because it’s been almost a month and a half since production was supposed to have started and it hasn’t.

HBO said back at the end of August that production will start in September but once the calendar turned to October, cameras had yet to start rolling.
It took until the middle of the month to even get half of the main cast confirmed with the other two leads still assumed but not confirmed. That’s a problem for fans who want to see progress as even with all the announcements in the last month, progress has been slow.
The show is still aiming for a January 2015 release date but the cameras haven’t started rolling yet and that’s causing concern. Lots still has to be done to get the show ready to premiere on time, and the chief thing that needs to happen is film needs to be printed.
That hasn’t happened yet, but patience is still needed. It’s running thin, no doubt, with fans of the show but the first season was worth the wait and the only difference between then and now is we didn’t know what we were waiting for.
