True Detective Halloween Costume Checklist
By Josh Hill
True Detective was a popular costume at Halloween this year, but there’s a cheap and easy way to get a jump on next year and get your costume complete early.
Halloween has come and gone this year, but that doesn’t mean you have to forget about your True Detective costume you wanted to throw together. It appears that Rust Cohle was one of the most popular costumes of the year but if you missed out on throwing together your costume in time, never fear as there is always next year.

One thing that you could consider is dressing your kid up in a True Detective outfit, as this layout is very much kid friendly. Rather than having a Lone Star Beer attached to the costume, just replace it with a Coke and you’re golden.
MTV laid out everything you need to be Rust Cohle on a budget.
"+ Turtleneck: Forever 21 ribbed crop top ($11)+ Shirt: Forever 21 soft chambray shirt ($14)+ Can: Coke ($3/6-pack)+ Mustache: Fake brown mustache ($6)+ Cigarettes: Fake puff cigarettes ($3)"
It’s an easy costume to throw together and it would look adorable on a kid. Imagine all the cute yet slightly inappropriate costumes you saw this year. Dressing your kid up in a True Detective costume isn’t only brilliant, it’s pretty much your duty as a parent or guardian.
