True Detective Casting: Ashley Hinshaw Joins Season Two
The cast of True Detective’s second season continues to expand, and overtime it does so it seems less and less likely that it will make that labeled January premiere. Either way, Ashely Hinshaw is True Detective’s newest recruit.

Hinshaw was previously on HBO’s True Blood. Deadline is reporting that Hinshaw will play a “troubled starlet” on True Detective. There are few things more noir than a troubled star involved in some way with detectives. It’s practically a classic set-up back from noir’s heyday.
It’s always great to see True Detective add new cast members, but it does cement the fact that production doesn’t currently have all the pieces together. Hinshaw is going Vince Vaughn, Colin Farrell, Rachel, McAdams and Taylor Kitsch. Not to mention alums from both Dexter and The Wire.
It’s looking to be a wild ride.
