Funny or Die’s Tiny Detectives Spoof Best of 2014
2014 was a fantastic year for True Detective spoofs. Which totally checks out since 2014 was also the year in which True Detective premiered, so there you go. We’ve been gifted with so many fantastic spoofs that it’s become easy to lose count.
Some of the best ones were fan created, but others featured celebrities spoofing True Detective themselves. It even progressed to the point at which a True Detective spoof on The Soup was nominated for an Emmy award.

But one of the best spoofs of 2014 featured Ellen Page and Kate Mary in possibly the single most ridiculous spoof of them all: Tiny Detectives.
Funny or Die has also seen fit to recognize the brilliance of Tiny Detectives by placing it on their Best of 2014 playlist, which consists of 84 of the best Funny or Die clips of the year. In case you’re curious, Tiny Detectives come in at number 12.
The genius spoof features Ellen Page and Kate Mara as detectives that are simply too short for the job. It sounds ridiculous, and it is, but in the best way possible.
There’s no telling whether or not True Detective’s second season will be able to replicate this level of fan tribute and devotion, but even if it doesn’t, we’ll always remember 2014 as the year of Rust Cohle.
