We had a few breaking news pieces for True Detective this week. Even though we still don’t have any concrete information considering a a premiere date, other directors, or who is going to handle the music, it was still a big week.

In case you missed anything that happened this week, today is Friday, and that means This Week in True Detective has your back.

Let’s begin.

  • True Detective lost another award last weekend. True Detective failed to take home a DGA award for direction, which instead went to Homeland. You can’t win them all, but more than “a couple” would be nice.
  •  One of the big news items of this week was the leak of more on-set photos, this time featuring Rachel McAdams! This has been the first time that we’ve seen Rachel McAdams on the set of True Detective.
  • HBO announced that their stand-alone streaming service will be arriving this year and that it will be priced as a “premium product.” Will True Detective fans make the switch?
  • We had two user submitted True Detective fan pieces this week: True Detective with dogs (of course,) and True Detective’s Rust Cohle as rendered in Grand Theft Auto V.
  • Finally, Vince Vaughn dished a little on True Detective in an interview with Playboy. We didn’t learn much, but it’s the first cast interview for True Detective season two that we’ve had so far.
