Regardless of what day it is today, new deals and announcements continue to be made. The world has to move on, right? And so today we were treated to news that HBO will reportedly making its way over to Sling TV. It’s easy to forget that HBO isn’t actually available everywhere, but this is one more step in the right direction.

The Verge is reporting the news via The Wall Street Journal’s pay-walled content. Users of Sling TV will be able to subscribe to HBO in addition to the other services currently offered at a currently unknown price. The deal doesn’t include access to HBO Now, as that is currently exclusive to Apple and computer users.
Sling TV is offered by Dish and is specifically catered to cord-cutters. HBO offered for more people means more will get a chance to watch True Detective which is currently filming its second season. Cord-cutters are quickly gaining the attention of the larger networks and distributors, with HBO Now being a shining example of this.
If there are any Sling TV users out there, are you interested in getting HBO? Considering that HBO Now is being offered for a premium $14.99, it’s likely that their standard service for Sling TV will also come at some sort of premium.
